Canadian Pacific Railway Pension – Disability Benefits


The Canadian Pacific Railway Pension Plan provides a Disability benefits for covered individuals. Benefits are considered for long and prolonged illnesses and you must be unable to pursue any substantially gainful occupation for a long, indefinite period. This benefit is taxable income to you.

Once your LTD benefits have been approved by Great-West Life and depending on your disability and prognosis, you may be requested by Great-West Life to make an application for this benefit. Should you fail to make an application for CPR Disability Pension benefits when requested, your LTD monthly benefit will be reduced by an amount equal to $1,000 as an estimated monthly CPR Disability Pension benefit.

If approved for CPR Disability Pension benefits, it is a direct deduction from any eligible LTD monthly benefit received from your Great-West Life Group Insurance Disability Plan.
